Terms of use

Last updated November 2026 (pilot)

These terms are the agreement between you and Thrive Children Services Ltd for using Seedpod during the pilot. Please read them with the privacy notice.

What Seedpod is, and isn't

Seedpod is a journal for recording what you observe about someone you care for, and for sharing that with the people who help.

It isn't a medical device, a medical record, or a source of medical advice, and nobody at Thrive checks what's written. Always follow the advice of doctors, nurses and pharmacists. In an emergency, call 999.

Summaries and charts are worked out from what people have recorded. A day with nothing logged may simply not have been written down.

The pilot

Seedpod is free during the pilot. It's new, so things may change, and some things may not work as they should. Please tell us using Report a problem.

Download a copy of anything important from Reports. We'll give you notice before the pilot ends, and tell you what happens to your journals.

Your account

  • You must be 16 or over to have an account.
  • Use your own email address and keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else has used your account, change your password and tell us.
  • We recommend switching on two-step sign-in, especially if you manage a journal.

Starting and sharing a journal

  • Only start a journal for someone if you're their parent or guardian, or you're responsible for their care and have the right to record this information.
  • You decide who to invite and what they can do. Only invite people you trust, check who has access from time to time, and remove people when they no longer help.
  • The main owner is responsible for the journal. If you hand it over, the new main owner takes this on.

If you've been invited

  • Only use what you see to help care for the person.
  • Don't copy, screenshot or share journal information outside the people caring for them, unless you need to for their safety.
  • Record things honestly and as accurately as you can. If you get something wrong, correct it: Seedpod keeps a history of changes.

Things you mustn't do

  • Use Seedpod to record information about someone without the right to do so.
  • Try to reach journals or accounts you haven't been invited to, or interfere with how Seedpod works.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or use Seedpod to harass or harm anyone.

Ending your use

You can delete a journal you own, or your account, at any time. Deleting your account takes effect after 14 days, so download anything you want to keep first. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.

Our responsibility to you

We'll provide Seedpod with reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for decisions made using what's recorded in a journal, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have expected.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

General

We may update these terms. If a change affects you, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree again.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
